Jeff Kinney, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (Anthem, 2008)Kinney's second installment in the insanely popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series takes us through Greg Heffley's eighth-grade year, but there's a good deal more focus on Greg's family here, as Kinney examines Greg's relationship with his brother Rodrick more closely. Oh, sure, there's a lot of Rowley (and Greg wondering why the seemingly borderline-slow Rowley seems to get all the girls), and some funny scenes at school, but we get to know the Heffleys a lot better in this volume. As fun and readable as ever. *** ½
Another great book about Greg and his many adventures. Though, I didn't like this one as well as I liked the first, it doesn't mean Kinney shouldn't deserve great praise. These illustrated books about the funniest parts of being a kid are well worth the read for kids and nostalgic adults alike. I will be reading the third book as soon as I can get my hands on it.
Jeff Kenny's writing style is in the diary format some of the characters are Greg, Roderick, Greg`s mom, Greg`s dad, Fregly, uncle Charley and Rowly. The author is Jeff Kinney. The title of my book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules. Something that you should know is that a lot of the pages in the book have cartoon like pictures on them and that the print is pretty big also it is a pretty hilarious book I would surely recommend it to my friends.One of my favorite scenes from the book is when Greg finds like a hundred thousand mom bucks. Other books by the author are diary of a wimpy kid 1 another is diary if a wimpy kid 3. They are all about the main character Greg and the hard ships of growing up. And traded them in for real money If you like super hilarious book I would recommend this book to you.
I bought all 4 books from the WImpy Kid series for my soon to be 8 yr old. And I got them just in time for him to read over the summer. He loves them. Already read one whole book. I looked everywhere for these books and this was the best price.and they are hard cover, which are way more durable for the younger readers.Very cute cartoons, and it makes the little guys think they are reading huge chapter books, the point is to get them to read, and enjoy it. These books do just that.
We listened to it in the car, but the narrator was so monotone and boring, that we returned it without going through even the 1st Cd. My children love all books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. When they noticed the audio book in the library, they got so excited, that we had to rent it out. I am glad that I didn't buy it.If you like audio books, I highly recommend the "A-Z Mysteries" and the "Halfmoon Investigations". Both are great, with excellent narrators.
